This painting is also referred to as "Still Life with Pumpkins".

This is one of two still life paintings that Frida painted for her dentist and personal friend Dr. Samuel Fastlicht. The other is "Still Life" (1951). The two paintings were in payment for some dental work that Fastlicht had performed on Frida.

The inscription on the banderole reads: "For Samuel Fastlicht, painted with all my love, Frida Kahlo. In the city of Puebla, 1952"

In 1948, Fastlicht commissioned Frida to paint a self-portrait. That painting was entitled simply: "Self Portrait" (1948).

A esta pintura también se la llama "Naturaleza muerta con calabazas"

Esta es una de las dos naturalezas muertas que Frida pintó para su dentista y amigo personal Dr. Samuel Fastlich. El otro es "Naturaleza muerta" (1951). Las dos pinturas fueron pago por trabajos dentales que Fastlich prestó a Frida.

La inscripción en la banderola dice "Para Samuel Fastlich, pintado con todo mi amor, Frida Kahlo. En la ciudad de Puebla, 1952".

En 1948 Fastlich encargó a Frida un autorretrato. Esa pintura se llamó simplemente "Autorretrato" (1948).
